Response from Algoma Public Health on Water Quality

Thank you for sharing your results with Algoma Public Health. The water results taken September 2008 of Total Coliforms and E. coli indicate very good water quality. This captures the levels of TC and EC at that particular moment in time.

For your reference, the Ministry of Health recommends that public beaches be closed once the mean of samples taken at a particular beach are 100 or higher on a particular sample date.

Algoma Public Health always recommends that surface water be treated prior to consumption using methods that will destroy bacteria and filter out parasitic oocysts.

We commend you and Dick Brennan for your work in the Lake Partners Program.

For healthier communities,
