Upgrades for Matinenda Landing:

 
You are all aware that we continually work with the Town of Blind River to review the landing and docks.  We are extremely excited with the Towns support to upgrade docks at the landing.  Due to the dock being damaged as well as the Towns effort to avoid our busy season, they are speeding up the communication and installation of the new docks.  The details below provide an update on the actions scheduled.
 
Please review the plan above to ensure awareness so we can all support. The Town is currently auctioning off the old docks to provide space for the new.  The auctioning has been shared on the Town website:

LMCOA Dues

On behalf of the Lake Matinenda Cottage Owners Association thank you for considering joining or returning to our association

We work to collect and share the needs of our association members and your voice will be a valuable addition. Our goals focus on the following:

• Connecting with membership to ensure we are clear on our Lake Matinenda needs and concerns.

• Collaborating with the broader community to help deliver key initiatives: Town of Blind River, Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, Provincial Parks, Federation of Cottage Owners.

• We continually work to share the results of our efforts through email, Facebook, our website and in person.

Fall Update November 2023

Hello Everyone!

A few quick updates from our LMCOA Board:

□   Action required by all of us:    

By December 1st all trailers need to be removed from the Matinenda parking lot to allow for winter snow clearing.  The town has moved the garbage bins to the back of the parking lot to allow for ease of movement for the snow plows.

□   Items completed over the last two months:

We have been working to file all tax information on behalf of the association to ensure that we are up to date. We are now caught up for the last five years and we will wait to hear from Revenue Canada.

As agreed during the AGM we have been researching liability options for the Association including board members and volunteers.  We have completed this selection and the liability insurance will start Jan 1st 2024.

Starting next year, we are excited to be introducing some Fire Smart initiatives. Stay tuned and beginning in January watch for this insightful information.

Twenty-seven issues have been raised with the town through 2023 on behalf of the Association.  To date 85% are resolved for all of us.  We will continue to work on improvements.
